After a two year mission to forage the NZ landscape for aromatic native plants that best compliment a classic dry gin, Chris and Stu settled on Kawakawa, Horopito and Manuka, making it a quintessentially NZ gin. Juniper and floral notes followed by citrus, pepper and ginger spice on the palate and a vibrant aromatic finish.

Batch distilled in a boutique 200L copper pot still after a 24 hour activated maceration in a sustainable neutral base spirit - bottled at a bold 45% ABV. A juniper forward palate followed by a fresh grapefruit and hop zest balanced against a highly aromatic kawakawa and gorse nose. Finishing long and clean with a slightly silky mouthfeel and lingering coriander seed note.

Black Robin Gin is a contemporary London Dry gin that is inspired by the critically endangered Chatham Island's Black Robin. With every bottle sold Simply Pure make a donation to their charity partners to help them protect NZ's native species and wild places. Black Robin Gin is handcrafted and batch-distilled in a Arnold-Holstein copper reflux pot still by Master Distiller Michael Deinlein, who's family have been crafting alcoholic beverages since the 1930's. Using triple distilled whey as their base, they go on to distill Black Robin Gin a further two times with 11 traditional and exotic botanicals including locally sourced horopito. They then blend with pristine filtered spring water sourced from a sprung underneath our distillery in the hills above Tauranga.
